Trip to Amsterdam

5 January 2015 in Art HistoryTravel

Colin took a short trip to the wonderful city of Amsterdam on Boxing Day and of course couldn’t miss the opportunity of visiting the Van Gogh Museum.  In the new Museum layout, you step directly into Van Gogh’s world.

To see his masterpieces is a privilege alongside his drawings and letters. Van Gogh experienced life and the world intensely and the spectacular new setting focuses on the development of van Gogh as an artist but also incorporates  the works of artists that were influenced by him.  The Museum houses the world’s largest collection of works by Vincent van Gogh featuring masterpieces such as Almond Blossom and The Bedroom alongside many other paintings and self-portraits.
